“Keys Wallet Phone.” “Key Wallet Ring Watch Phone.” “Keys Wallet Ring Watch Phone Hank Knife.” These are the things that I have said to myself throughout my lifetime every time I leave the house, get up from having a meal out, leaving a theatre, or crawling out of a strange bed. Depending on my age, location, or task at hand, I always have needed some sort of “Every Day Carry” item, or EDC.
a square of cotton or other finely woven material, typically carried in one’s pocket and intended for blowing or wiping one’s nose.
“EDC” is an acronym for “Every Day Carry”. This may be a different meaning for each person, but the standard items are keys, wallet, watch, ring, phone, knife, gun, etc. For some it also means that you carry a hank, or handkerchief. In this blog I am going to advocate that the hank should be an EDC item for you and everyone else on the planet.
