Texas is Frozen
Our hearts go out to the people of Texas. The news continues to show images of the state under a thick layer of ice and snow this mid February 2021. Texas is Frozen and the impact is very negative for the state.
Water pipes freezing, power outages, road closures (https://patch.com/texas/downtownaustin/austin-weather-latest-snow-ice-continue-thursday-roads-closed) , and turtles in kiddie pools (yeah, check out this article about it: (https://slate.com/technology/2021/02/texas-sea-turtles-cold-stunned.html) are filling the news screens across the country.
The weather that has hit the state has impacted so many within the state lines, and reverberated beyond the borders from coast to coast.
California news stations
California news stations are reporting that it is basically out of covid vaccines right now due to the inability to travel through the snow. Shipping delays of all kinds that funnel through the region are TBD on delivery time.
The people and political office holders are pointing fingers to fault systems and structures put into place that could not handle this temperature turn of events. The failures to provide food, water, power, and other services to the people of Texas is just plain pissing people off.
The climate is volatile physically and figuratively.
The expected length of the freeze is going to continue for another week or so, and as things develop or disintegrate, we wish to express this message.
Be good to one another.
Be good to one another.
Let’s face it. Sh*t happens. It always has, and it always will. We can prepare, we can fail, and we can do it again and again, but through it all we can also be good to one another.
This doesn’t mean, “hey, just chill out and be kind”. That is not the message here. The actual thing to go is get off your butt and do something to help, while being good to one another.
Depending on where you are in the world your ability to reach out and do something may be super effective, or ….not so much. I am personally, in the not so much section, but I am proud to say that family members in Texas are helping others with provisions and power.
I am sure we will have our turn in our location soon enough to act upon our local dilemma. When we do we will be good to one another.
